Laughter Yoga is a unique way of exercising created by Medical Doctor Madan Kataria, Founder of Laughter Yoga Movement, in March 1995.

Based on scientic research and substantial evidence suggesting that the body does not distinguish between real and simulated laughter Laughter Yoga is for all and real laughter often and quickly emerges from the laughter-based exercises!

Laughing as a choice without external stimuli is a concept everyone can benefit from and enjoy enroute to improved health, relationships, communication, resilience and other areas of everyday life, both personally and professionally.

Started in a park in Mumbai with only five  people it is sweeping the world with thousands of regular Laughter Clubs in more that 100 countries. This combination of playful laughter exercises and deep breathing techniques has proven to be a recipe for successful transformation and lasting change.

World Laughter Day celebrates and promotes laughter for World Peace.

World Laughter Day takes place every year on the first Sunday of May.

More than 100 countries celebrate the day using Laughter Yoga techniques to create joyful events and festivals where thousands of Laughter Yoga professionals organise regional and national as well as online and international laughter events as when it was first marked in the calendar in 1998.

In the UK the day is organised and celebrated by many of the Certified Laughter Yoga Leaders and Teachers who have been trained by UnitedMind and the UnitedMind Endorsed Laughter Yoga Teachers.
